A system monitor with memory

Your Mac has
a normal.

MacDNA learns it. When something changes, see what moved, what was nearby, and how strong the evidence is—without sending your monitoring history away.

Watch a change become an evidence trail.

Follow one simulated event through MacDNA’s reasoning loop. Each step reveals evidence without pretending that proximity proves causation.

MAC GENOME

Normal starts with observation.

MacDNA collects valid local samples. A signal becomes ready for personal comparisons after at least 30 observations.

Most monitors end with a number.

MacDNA keeps the change,
context, and uncertainty together.

01Signals→02Your baseline→03Context→04An honest finding

The missing layer between
measurement and meaning.

Activity Monitor is excellent at showing what is happening now. MacDNA adds personal history, context, and a record of what you tried.

THE QUESTION

Is this normal for my Mac?

A raw reading alone cannot know your usual working pattern.

RAW-READING WORKFLOW

Here is the current reading.

You reconcile processes with your own memory and form a theory.

MACDNA

This signal left your learned range.

Inspect retained history and nearby observations while keeping uncertainty visible.

What you needRaw-reading workflowMacDNA
Personal baselineA reading without personal historyYour retained local observations
Historical evidenceWhat you recorded or rememberTimeline with incident markers
Contributor contextProcesses you reconcileNearby app samples and grouped helpers
Did an action help?Your own comparisonAction and outcome timing together

Nearby activity is evidence of timing, not proof of causation. MacDNA keeps that distinction visible.

Every resource.
One continuous story.

Dedicated CPU, memory, storage, network, and battery workspaces flow into the same calm investigation experience.

01 · MAC GENOME

Normal is earned,
not assumed.

MacDNA establishes each signal separately after at least 30 valid local observations. A robust median and deviation range keep one spike from redefining your normal.

  • Six signal families
  • Visible learning progress
  • Unavailable data stays unavailable
02 · DNA TIMELINE

See the moment
the story changed.

Inspect one signal through time, move point by point, and open the Context Lens for application activity observed nearby.

  • 1 hour to 30 days or custom
  • Incident markers on the chart
  • Association labeled honestly
03 · APP DNA

One app, including
the helpers behind it.

See an application as the thing you recognize—not a scattered list of renderer, GPU, and helper processes. App DNA is an honest current snapshot.

  • App identity and visible hierarchy
  • Current CPU and memory
  • No invented per-app history
04 · INCIDENT CAPSULES

Remember what happened.
And what helped.

Keep the captured finding, severity, evidence, your private note, and the action you tried together. Review a strict redaction preview before export.

  • Finding and evidence snapshot
  • “Did it help?” outcome timing
  • No automatic deletion or process killing

Know which project owns the port.

An on-demand lsof scan joins visible TCP listeners with their exact PID and working directory. MacDNA groups local services by project and always confirms before stopping anything.

Clear answers
before you install.

MacDNA is designed to earn trust before it asks for a license.

Can I download MacDNA now?

Not publicly yet. The implementation and automated Apple-silicon build are ready, but physical-device validation, production services, legal review, Developer ID signing, and Apple notarization still gate the signed DMG.

Can I use MacDNA on more than one Mac?

One license covers one Mac at a time. Deactivate on your current Mac from the device management page to free the slot immediately, then activate on the new Mac. No extra charge, no time limit on transfers.

How long does the personal baseline take?

Live readings work immediately. Each supported signal needs at least 30 valid retained observations before MacDNA calls its learned range established.

Does MacDNA prove which app caused a slowdown?

No. It can show application activity observed near a change and group visible helper processes, but it labels this as association—not proof of causation.

Does it upload my activity?

No. Detailed monitoring history, application activity, and private notes stay local. Activation sends the license key, app version, installation ID, and Mac label needed to manage the device.

Will it “optimize” my Mac automatically?

No. It explains evidence and keeps you in control. It does not silently delete files, stop processes, or change system settings.

Which Macs are supported?

The first release targets Apple-silicon Macs running macOS 15 or later. The final compatibility statement follows the physical-device test matrix.

Your Mac is already telling a story.

Understand it.
